I haz buttonz!
I won a giveaway over at The Foley Fam, and one of the prizes was a set of custom designed media icons from the incredibly talented Kristen of KV's Confessions. She checked out The Closet & designed the buttons to match. Aren't they the cutest?? Click 'em! They work and everything! *contented sigh*
My week is off to a smashing grand start~*
I've had a few emails about the quotations, graphics & fonts I use on Mondays that I thought I'd take a tic to answer. Basically I'm an unapologetic quote, image & font hoarder. Most of the quotes have been collected through the course of my research, others are picked up from various quotation websites. The graphics/photographs/textures I use are either Thing 3's, or royalty free/stock images I've amassed from putting together PowerPoints for class lectures {deviantart is a great site & the Stanford Library has a great image index-- some are subscription based, but others are free access}. Fonts are similarly collected {1001freefonts, 1001fonts & Fonts for Peas are some of my favorites}. I assemble images in PowerPoint - I know, not nearly as classy as Adobe Photoshop or any other imaging program, but I already have it on my computer, I already know how to use it & it suits my purposes just fine. There are two free sites I use for image editing--one for serious photo editing, the other for general tomfoolery. Pixlr-o-matic, falls in the tomfoolery category-- its not photo editing per se, more photo messing about-- think instagram for your computer. Easy to use, very, very user friendly {with endless combinations, which I love} and free, which is a prerequisite for me. Then there is Be Funky, a more traditional photo-editor with stuff like red-eye removal, cloning & blemish removal along with a few fun filters to gussy your pics up. Thing 3 is forever on the hunt for newer & better sites for image editing-- if you are interested in the free websites she uses, shoot me an email & I'll send you her list!
Have a wonderful Monday!
