Dungeons & Dragons. You ever play?
We started a game last weekend, part of our desire to slow down and enjoy life & the people in it. Jeremy played quite a bit when he was younger, I had played a few games waaaayyyy back in 7th grade. I remembered nothing beyond I had played as a thief and it was fun.
Fortunately, our friends were similarly mixed on experience-- and while some had played "hardcore" in years past, everyone was willing to go easy on the newbies. The results were hilariously entertaining.
The eight of us drank wine or ale, ate bread, cheese, salamis & cookies, and battled lizard folk until 1:30 in the morning. I can not possibly explain how fun it was.
It was epic.
We intend to get together once or twice a month. Jer and I are thinking of expanding into other board games-- have you seen Wil Wheaton's TableTop? He has inspired us to get our geek on~*
