Initial Impressions

I know, its another little DIY.  I must seem crazy

I've had a pile of these mounting over the past year.  Little fixes, little touches, little jobs that I wanted but didn't need to do.  & because they didn't need to be done, that were moved to the bottom of the rather long list of projects sacrificed on the altar of my real job.

During the semester there isn't much time for anything but teaching.  There are weekends, of course, but with two teenagers just this side of driving {Thing 2 being at the much celebrated permit stage of driving} most weekends are spent jetting from here to there accomplishing whatever they need accomplished.  Races, games, trips to the mall-- you remember what it is to be a teenager, right?

So the little things, like this wooden letter project, get put on the back burner.  The way back burner.  The burner in another time zone.
Now that summer is winding down, I'm racing to polish up those little things.

I got these letters & ampersand on sale at Barnes & Noble after last Christmas as an impulse buy.  T for Tabetha {me}, J for Jeremy {hubby} and ampersand for obvious reasons.  The J & & were both light purple, the T lime green-- which was the problem.  If the letters had been the same color, or all three the same, or all three different, I would-a been happy but noooooooooooooo.

So I fixed it.  I went with easy decoupage.  Scrapbook paper {similar}, spray glue, x-acto razor, matte sealer.  Done & done.

Barnes & Noble no longer carry the letters, but you can find similar products at any craft store {like here or here}.

Now I'm off to get ready for lunch with my hubby & a trip to market before the teens are out of practice...still so much to do {can't wait until independent driver's licenses are obtained lol}
