We are currently suffering through our third straight day of rain. Its starting to affect my mood...& our basement {we are flooded...again}. Things 2 & 3 are out of school because of it-- roads are washed out & people are cut off from the main roads, though no one has been hurt by the flooding as of yet *knocks on wood*.
One of our cars is in the shop. Seems a tree limb decided to vacate its traditional tree appendage position in favor of settling in to our windshield. Fun, fun, good times. Another branch dented my audi. MY AUDI TT. Is dented. The nerve.
We were able to procure a rental car, so the inconvenience is minimal, though the annoyance level is reaching a record high.
I blame the rain.
Thankfully I am ready for classes to start tomorrow. Syllabi are printed & attendance sheets are at the ready. I actually photographed both piles of paper for no good reason with the intent of putting the photo
HERE
But my phone can't find a network, so I can't send it to my computer by way of Instagram.
I blame the rain for this too, though it might be unfounded. Still, I feel better blaming it. It deserves it. It totally should be snow.
Were it what it was supposed to be {ie snow} then I would be home in my fleece pajamas right now, sipping cocoa in front of the fire, chatting with my husband & kids & generally getting cozy. Snow days are the best thing ever.
Rain days, not so much.
So I am in my office, waiting for my turn to do new student advising for students who won't come in because, in case you have forgotten, IT IS RAINING. A LOT. There is the remote possibility it will turn to slushy snow tonight, just in time for the first day of class for Spring 2013.
Sigh.
I know today's post is traditionally a bunch of links to cool things I've found...but I'm not feeling it today. If I have to suffer, you should all suffer lol~*
So here are my rainy day web wanderings, for what they are worth.
1. Songza songs for a rainy day. Currently playing Stormy Weather by Billie Holiday.
2. Fabulous photos on the romance of rain.
3. A great pinterest of movies for a rainy day-- the posters are awesome...
5. A whole store devoted to umbrellas. Sweet.
Here's hoping you find a little sunshine for your Wednesday~*
What rotten luck, poor you! Hope your cars and the weather get better soon. It's icy here, quite pretty but terrifying at the same time. Hope you manage to get your fleecy pyjamas and fireside cocoa soon :)

Just Pirouette and Carry On...
P.S I have that umbrella! It's the best :)
Ugh, how lame, that blows. I hope the weather gets better for you soon. It's snowy and icy here and I cannot stop wishing for warm weather and sunshine. Doesn't that sound nice?
ReplyDeleteah so many cute rain things, did they make you hate the rain less? I love rainy weather, as long as I don't have to leave my house. There's the catch. They're especially bad when it's cold and rainy ugh. I wish we had snow days here, what you've described sounds like typical Australian weather... I'm a new follower on Bloglovin' from the Tuesday Tango, nice to be here :)

Sorry about the car mishaps! Here's to snow days! I like to hear rain gently falling outside though. Just as long as it doesn't touch my hair. ;) Isn't Songza great? You have reminded me, I'm going to turn it on now actually. :)
