How To-zday: Roses, Roses~*

A quick craft for finals week courtesy of Thing 1 {who came over to the house the other night for a hot meal & an excuse to avoid studying}.

These quick & easy paper roses make a gorgeous package topper, a pretty bouquet {attach wire stems}, a stunning wreath {especially lovely if you use old book pages}, sweet topiary trees {attach to foam shapes with a pin}...really there are dozens of projects they can be used for.  Best of all, its incredibly easy!

You'll need:

1.  Paper--  any kind will do, though printed or colored on both sides works best
2.  scissors
3.  a glue gun
4.  a lot of studying to avoid

Cut a roughly circular shape.

Now cut a spiral shape-- again, the rougher the better.

Starting at the "tail," roll the paper toward the center.

Add a dollop of hot glue at the center point, then  set the rose atop it.  It will unwind slightly, think of it as "blooming," lol.

Leaves are equally simple.  Cut a rough leaf shape.  Roll one tip & hold with hot glue.

If you want to get fancy, you can use a punch to give the leaves an edge effect.

Then simply attach the leaves to the roses with another drop of glue and the are set & ready for use!

Look for the beauties again in posts to come {I have a plan, mwahahahaha}

Thanks Thing 1 & good luck on those finals!!!!
