Weekend Reminiscing & a Huge Thank You~*

No craft project today, no how-tos to share.  Instead I'm going to show ya'll some pictures I took this weekend.  I took tons of pictures.  Tons.  So consider yourself lucky I whittled them down to these few.

It was the first weekend of our local farmer's market, so we got up early.  We stopped for breakfast at the Waffle House.  I know, I know.  Not the healthiest.  But in my defense, the hashbrowns there are the stuff of little southern children's dreams.  

The market was a bit light, if you know what I mean.  It is early days yet, & most of the stalls were sparse, stocked with preserves from the winter or filled with seedlings.  We are going to pick up some herbs for our kitchen herb garden next weekend.  Despite the lack of produce, it was a wonderful way to spend the morning-- strolling through the wee town listening to the indie/blue grass band and dreaming of summer days to come.

Then we headed to the comic book store.  It was free comic book day.  Seriously.  Its a nationwide promotion to get more people in to comic books.  If you hadn't heard of free comic book day, don't feel bad-- I only knew because my husband's nerd signal illuminated the sky the night before~*

I read Walking Dead,  among others & was happy to find that one of the free comics was a Walking Dead, so my comic book yen was taken care of.  My husband prefers super hero comics & was looking to get in to the Minutemen series-- which the shop didn't have.  Well, they had the mini books, but he wants to get the compendium.  We decided to go by Barnes & Noble, and grabbed another coffee and split a pretzel for our trouble.  That was the good bit.  The bad bit was that they have shrunk their comic book section to virtually nothing.  Bummer.  Thank god for Amazon.

So now that you saw our morning/afternoon, you must be wondering why I've bothered to share these wanderings.  That is where the huge thank you comes in...

I won a Canon Rebel T3 camera!!!  

Excuse me while I scream a bit.  I still can't believe it!

You've made my May.  Ah hell, I'm pretty confident you've made my millenium~* You can be sure there will be more pictures on The Closet as the summer progresses &  I figure out all the whizbangs on the camera.  Between Thing 3 & I, we will have our world photographed in no time.
